The Kodiaks showed no signs of slowing down Wednesday night with a convincing 5-1 win over the visiting Mission City Ouitlaws.

The Bears shook off their first round hangover in short order Wednesday night striking first against the Outlaws just 31 seconds into the game and added another goal before the period was over taking a 2-0 lead after one.

The Outlaws pushed back in the second period outshooting the Kodiaks 13-10, but the Bears scored the only goal of the frame on the powerplay to take a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after two.

The game got chippy in the third period which helped the Kodiaks extend their lead to 5-0 after two more powerplay markers. The Outlaws rounded out the scoring to make the final 5-1.

The Kodiaks were outshot the by Outlaws 33-32.

Brandon Dolby was named first star with a two goals. Spencer McHaffie was named second star with a goal and two assists, while Quinncy Leroux was named third star with a two assists. Aaron Markin also had two assists.

The Kodiaks will face the Mission City Outlaws in game two tonight in Aldergrove.
