The Kodiaks took over first place on Wednesday night with a 4-2 win over the Delta Ice Hawks. The Bears now hold a slim one-point lead over the Pilots who have a game in hand.
The Ice Hawks had the jump in the first frame outshooting the Kodiaks 11-9 and scored the only goal of the period.
Aldergrove bounced back in the second period outshooting the visitors 13-6 and outscoring the Hawks 2-1 to tie it up heading into the third.
The Bears jumped on the Hawks early and took a 3-2 lead just over a minute into the final frame. Aldergrove would cap the scoring with an insurance marker on the powerplay with just under five minutes left to take the 4-2 win.
The Bears outshot the Hawks 31-24.
Kyle Bosko took first strar with a goal.Kurt Klimek took second star with a goal and an assist with Matt Oliver completing the sweep on the strength of two assists.
